We use 'Impossible Burger Made From Plants' in this recipe. I make these when we entertain in the summer. They pleasantly surprise many.
I usually have all the fixings set out for people to top how they see fit. I love having lots of condiments, sauces, pickles, pickled red onion, lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc
The greatest compliment was when my husband's friend, Brian, texted me a few days after eating at our house to ask me for this recipe.
Ingredients
1 tbsp ground flax seed
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp salt & pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 an onion (finely chopped)
1 garlic clove (finely chopped)
small pepper (finely chopped)
1 (12 oz) package Impossible
Steps
1. Mix 1 tbsp ground flax seed and 3 tbsp water in small bowl & set aside (make a flax egg).
2. Measure out dry ingredients in a bowl & set aside:
1/2 tsp salt & pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 c. bread crumbs
3. In large bowl, use hands to mix together chopped veggies & impossible meat. Then mix in flax egg. Then mix in dry ingredients.
4. Form burgers by hand (makes about 4 - 5 patties) and store in frig until time to grill. Drizzle some olive oil on burgers before grilling. This will prevent sticking and create nice grill lines. Each side only needs to cook for a few minutes. Be careful you do not over cook.
